As of April 1 2023, CellarPass no longer allows Stripe to be used for ticketed events.
CellarPass provides you the option to use your Stripe Connect account as a credit card processor for ticketed events.
This article covers the steps required to utilize your Stripe Connect account with ticket events on CellarPass. It's important that you follow each step precisely or you will no doubt run into problems. Please note that once you have started selling tickets, you cannot switch the payment processing from CellarPass' payment gateway to Stripe. And once you switch to Stripe Connect as your payment processor, you will not be able to switch back to the CellarPass processor.
Step 1- Create and Configure Stripe Connect Account
- Create a Stripe account by going to http://www.stripe.com and select the Create Account option.

- In the Stripe admin panel. click the Developers menu on the left-hand side.
- From the Developers sub-menu, select API Keys.

Step 2-Submit a Support Ticket to CellarPass
- So that we're aware that you are planning to use Stripe as your payment processor, we recommend that you submit a support ticket that includes the status of your Stripe Connect credit card processing account and when you plan on using Stripe as your processor.
- If there's a specific event that you have built already (and have not yet sold tickets) please include the name of that event.

- Sell tickets using your own credit card and verify that it was processed correctly.
- Complete a full refund or partial refund on one of your test orders, confirming it's working properly.
- We recommend that you log into your Stripe admin panel and review the charges.
- Note that CellarPass automatically withdraws the ticketing service fees on each charge.
- Note that Stripe automatically withdraws their credit card processing fees on each charge before deposits sales proceeds.
Step 6- Troubleshooting Stripe Connect & Other Notes
If you run into payment processing issues during your initial tests, we recommend that you follow the steps above to make sure you have connected to Stripe correctly.
- If you connect to Stripe AFTER sales for an event has already started, this event will have to be completed with the CellarPass payment processor as there's no way to switch over to Stripe in the middle of ticket sales.
- If payment processing fails, we recommend you contact Stripe Connect customer service immediately as this could be an issue with your account setup.
- If you have successfully processed charges in previous transactions and they are now failing, please contact Stripe for assistance.
- If you have confirmed that your Stripe Connect account is in "Live" mode and you continue to have problems, we recommend you submit a CellarPass support ticket.
