Ticketed Event Payout Overview (Stripe as Processor)

As of April 1st 2023, CellarPass no longer allows Stripe to be used for ticketed events.

This article is designed to help you better understand how payouts for ticketed events are processed when Stripe Connect is used as the processor.

Electing to Use Stripe Connect for Ticket Sales
If you want faster access to your ticket sales proceeds, we recommend that you create a Stripe Connect account. Doing so will allow your ticket sales proceeds (minus service fees) will be automatically deposited to your merchant account. You should read this article with regards to Stripe's policy on receiving payouts.

What Forms of Payment Can I Accept for Ticket Sales?
For added convenience, you may elect to use several different forms of payment when you sell tickets; credit card, cash and check. The default payment format is the CellarPass payment gateway. If you plan on accepting cash or check for tickets, this will first need to be enabled on a per event basis and is only available for ticket sales completed through Guest Link or the CellarPass backoffice.

To enable Cash or Check as an alternative payment type:
1. Log into the CellarPass admin panel by going to https://www.cellarpass.com/manage
2. In the left-hand menu, select Ticketing.
3. From the Ticketing submenu, select  Events
4. Locate the Event you wish to modify and click on the name of the event in blue to the left.
5. Once you are in the Event Editor, click the Fees & Payout tab.
6. Near the top of the page, check the boxes for Accept Check Payment to accept payment by Check. To accept Cash as payment, click the checkbox to the left of Accept Cash Payment.
7. Click the Save button.

How Are Payouts Calculated?
As each ticket order is processed, Stripe will automatically deduct the CellarPass service fees and their credit card processing fees. The balance is what will be deposited into your merchant account setup with Stripe. Any refunds processed within CellarPass will automatically be charged against your merchant account and the associated CellarPass service fees.

When Will I Receive My Payout?
The advantages of using Stripe Connect as your processor allows you faster access to your ticket sales proceeds. Stripe will automatically deduct the CellarPass ticket service fees and their credit card processing fees and deposit the balance into your Stripe merchant account. Any transactions that were paid via check or cash will not be included in any Stripe deposits.
