For Professional Plans (and higher) you an offer the ability to have your guests opt into your marketing during online bookings.
For those that would like to offer the ability for your guests to opt into your email marketing campaigns while they book reservations online, you can do so by following the steps below. Please note that this feature is available to Professional Plan (or higher) subscriptions.
CONFIGURING CONSENT MESSAGE
- Log into CellarPass admin panel by going to https://www.cellarpass.com/manage
- Select Marketing.
- Next select Site & Menu.
- On this page, locate the Marketing Opt-In section.
- Enter your Consent text into the Marketing Opt-in Message field. This is your legal consent text that will be displayed on the front-end while guests are booking. For example "By clicking here, I expressly consent to receive promotional emails from (your brand name here) and other trusted partners to the email address provided." Guests will have to check the box to provide their consent.
- Click the Save button.
NOTE: This feature will not be displayed to guests until you have supplied a Consent Message.
TESTING CONSENT MESSAGE
- Go to your website and locate the CellarPass booking widget.
- Start the booking process by selecting a date, number of guests and clicking Search.
- Pick a timeslot.
- Scroll to the bottom of the pre-confirmation and review your Consent text.
- If this is good, you are all set. If this needs to be modified, review the previous section above where we cover Configurating Consent Message.
VIEWING OPT-IN DATA
- Log into the CellarPass admin panel by going to https://www.cellarpass.com/manage
- Select Marketing from the left-hand menu.
- From the submenu, select Site & Menu.
- There is an Export Guest button in blue next to the Marketing Opt-In message. This will show a list of all customers that have consented along with the date that they opted-in. The default sort order is by Opt-In date, with the most recent at the top.
DISABLING THE FEATURE
If you want to remove this feature, simply remove the Consent Form Text and click Save.
OPTING OUT
Please note that we do not have a way for any 3rd party system to signal to CellarPass that the guest has subsequently opted out after signaling to CellarPass to be opted-in. So it's your responsibility to act responsibly when exporting data from CellarPass to be used for any email marketing.
