There's many uses when you would need to allow guests to acquire complimentary tickets where a ticket is normally priced > $0.00.
- Club members receive 2 complimentary tickets per event. Any additional tickets are at full rate.
- Participating properties in a passport program receive X number of tickets with their participation package.
- Social media contests and giveaways.
Best Practices
All of the cases above would be ideally handled by using the Access Codes system and not discount codes.
- Club Member Example
For club member comp'd tickets, create a private ticket level that is marked as $0.00. Then create and assign an Access Code to the private ticket to reveal it using an Access Code URL.
Be sure to set the max number of tickets allowed per order and number of uses for the Access Code on a per customer basis to "1". - Participating Property
This setup really depends on how you are handling Will Call and how you want to limit the number of tickets. If you want to limit number of tickets for a specific participating property, we would recommend creating a private ticket level for each property that is marked as $0.00 and then create an Access Code to reveal it to them using an Access Code URL.
Be sure to set the max number of tickets allowed per order and number of uses for the Access Code on a per customer basis to "1". - Social Media Contest
For club member comp'd tickets, create a private ticket level that is marked as $0.00 and then create an Access Code to reveal it to them using an Access Code URL.
Be sure to set the max number of tickets allowed per order and number of uses for the Access Code on a per customer basis to "1".
