One of the unique features of CellarPass is the ability to create a promo code URL, meaning that the guest will not have to enter a promo code to receive the discount. It will be automatically applied when your website's link or button is setup properly.
Creating the Promo Code
If you don't already know how to create a Promo Code for reservation experiences, please start here.
Assigning the Promo Code to a Reservation Experience
Once you've created the Promo Code, you can assign it to multiple reservation experiences. This can be done when creating the Promo Code by assigning the different Experiences or you can edit each Experience and assign it in the Discount section of the event. Once you are all done, be sure to save your changes.
Creating the Promo Code URL
Since you'll most likely be promoting a specific reservation experience, it's best to go to the editor for the experience.
From the main menu on the left, select Experiences, then select Events, then click on the name of the Experiences and select Discounting from the submenu. Towards the top, you will see your Promo Code's details, including the Promo Code to activate the promo, the discounted amount, when it starts, ends and if it's limited. To the far right, you'll see a button that says URL. Click that button as doing so will copy the URL to your clipboard.
Testing is Always Recommended
The worst possible thing you can do is spend all the time promoting a Promo Code URL only to find that you didn't set the correct Campaign dates, the discounted amount and everything else in between. We always recommend testing links before posting Promo Code URLs publicly.
Now that you have tested this URL, feel free to use it in an email, newsletter, webpage, social media post and so on.
Combining Access Codes + Promo Codes for Reservations
Yes, you can combine Access Codes to expose a private event and automatically assign a Promo Code, to apply a discount or simply track a referral source, which would be a $0.00 discount.
In this case, you would need to create an Access Code and a Promo Code for a specific experience, then use those URLs to create a combined URL following the instructions below.
For example I created a Access Code of AWESOME with a URL of https://www.cellarpass.com/business/encore-winery?access=AWESOMEFUN
I then created a Promo Code for 100% discount of CORKIT2025 with a URL of https://www.cellarpass.com/business/encore-winery?eventId=29089&book=true&promo=PROMO
Now what you will do is combine these two variables to make one URL. You will see I have set the Access Code and then I inserted the Promo Code, highlighted below.
https://www.cellarpass.com/business/encore-winery?access=AWESOMEFUN&promo=CORKIT2025
