One of the newest features of TablePro v2.3 is our swap table logic that takes seating guests to a whole new level.
We're pleased to announce the introduction of our new Swap Table feature which will provide more flexibility when seating guests through TablePro v2.3 (and higher). We recommend you read this article to better understand what it can and what it cannot do.
BETA PROGRAM
Since this is a brand-new feature, despite we've spent a lot of time testing different scenarios, we are considering this a beta feature. If you find any issues along the way, please report them immediately as a support ticket.
SWAP TABLES FEATURE OVERVIEW
The primary purpose of introducing this feature is to help seat guests to tables that they are no pre-assigned to more easily. The feature is designed for businesses that are using our floor plan-based inventory logic which pre-assigns parties to tables based on their party size, experience and floor plan. Since we soft assign tables in this configuration, this new feature allows you to easily seat guests to other tables more easily. If a party is being seated at a table that was assigned to another party, the system will automatically swap the other party to another available table without any warning, unless the other party has been hard-assigned to that table.
LIMITS TO SWAP TABLE FEATURE
It's important to understand what the swap tables feature cannot do:
- If the table being seated to a party is hard assigned to another party that would create a schedule conflict, the system will first give you a warning before proceeding.
- If party being seated to a different table than they are assigned to (soft or hard assigned) and there are no other tables available on the selected floor plan to move the party to, it will not allow you to continue.
- The system will not swap another party's table that is being attempted to be seated on to another floor plan. The swap logic only works within a single floor plan. You will need to first move the conflicting party to another table first.
