If you need to close for a Holiday or a Day or close all of my events for a single day, follow the instructions below.
I want to close for a Holiday or a specific Day
When we refer to Holidays, we use this term loosely to reference the idea that when a holiday is in effect, the business is considered closed to the public. When a Holiday is in effect, it blocks off all your reservation schedules for the date(s) selected.
Possible reasons for creating a Holiday closure
- Selling tickets through CellarPass for a special event where you cannot do both, a special event and normal tastings or tours.
- Closed due to holiday
- Business effected by a natural disaster
- Property buy-out
- Ownership change
Do not follow these steps if you just need to shut down for a few hours. The best approach is to manually close these via the Event Calendar. If any any existing reservations are effected (meaning you can no longer honor their visit), we recommend you contact the guests to make other arrangements.
- Log into CellarPass by going to www.cellarpass.com/manage
- Go to Business
- From the submenu, select Holiday & Closures (Requires Administrator Role)
- If you are closing for a Holiday, look for the date in our list of presets.
- If there's an existing Holiday entry, simply click the Pencil icon to the left for an existing Holiday or
- Click Add New Holiday to add a new entry.
- Enter the dates for the current year and the following year, if applicable.
- If you are planning to close for just a single day this year and not next year, insert the same date into the Following Year's column.
- Click the "Save" button to the far left of the row you are working in.
Closing for extended amount of time (date range)
- Log into CellarPass by going to www.cellarpass.com/manage
- Go to Settings
- From the submenu, select Holiday Manager (Requires Administrator Role)
- In the top, right-hand side of the screen, select Create Date Range.
- Click the Closed checkbox.
- Enter the Holiday Name such as Business Closure. Don't worry, this is only displayed to admins.
- Using the date picker, select the first date of your closure.
- Using the date picker, select the end date of your closure.
- Click Confirm when ready.
- Review the Holiday Manager to confirm that all the dates you needed have been created as individual instances.
- Should your schedule change, such as re-opening earlier, simply delete the entries for the dates that you will now be open.
- If you need to extend your closure, repeat steps 1 - 9.
PLEASE NOTE: Creating a Holiday will not prevent your admins from using the system normally, nor booking reservations on a holiday date via the backoffice. When loading the Event Calendar, a holiday closure message will appear, but that is not shared with guests booking online.
