We are pleased to report the planned admin panel upgrade has been completed.
Hello and thanks again for being a valued CellarPass community member!
We will continue completing our post update testing. If you encounter any issues, please report them immediately. Remember, you can always use Guest Link Pro and TablePro as backup interfaces to make changes to reservations.
As we've been sharing with you for over a year now, our development teams have been hard at work building the next generation of our guest management platform, referred to as Project Synergy.
Just as we pioneered many features over the years, this platform upgrade will be handled in two major upgrades. The first being an upgrade to the existing platform that will:
- Begin to align the existing platform's user interface to resemble more closely to the next generation platform that will be launched later this year.
- Introduce some of the new features now related to CRM, Reservations, Ticketing and introduce integrations with new partners.
The second phase will be a seamless migration to our brand-new platform that has been in development for over 2 years now. This new platform gives us access to bleeding edge AI-technologies and new ways to attract, engage and transact in more ways than ever before. We swear, the wait will be worth it!
We know change can sometimes be challenging, but based on focus group testing, but once you've spent a bit of time on the updated platform, you'll feel right at home. As part of the feedback and optimization of th platform, we've renamed a few sections, moved some components around, created a new section where you can manage all the business-level settings in one place and added new features to get assistance faster and expand your engagement with the fellow users in the CellarPass community.
In case you cannot find a feature you use, here's a PDF that you can use to see where the feature is now and where it's located in the updated admin panel.
As part of the re-imagination process when designing the next generation, we've replaced some common terms to be more inline with commonly-used industry terms:
- Reservation Events is now referred to as Experiences. So to manage your reservation schedules or view bookings, you'll look in the new Experiences menu in the upcoming update.
- Since the next generation will be utilizing SMS messaging more than ever before, we found that it justified renaming Email Messages to Notifications which is now found in the Business section. Keep an eye on this section as we've got big features that will be available in the not-so-distant future.
DO NOT PANIC
It's important to note that we have NOT removed any features from this upgrade. It's also important to note that we've made no logic changes with this update, this is mainly an update to the admin panel user interface.
All the features you know and love are still there, just many have been moved to their new menus which we will help guide you through this announcement. To help you find links and features that may have been moved or renamed, we have created a PDF for you, that will allow you to get to what you need while you learn the new interface. Download
OTHER ADMIN PANEL IMPROVEMENTS
Say Goodbye to "Edit" buttons
Our improved interface took the design strategy that "less is more" and we've removed the majority of the Edit buttons in our admin panel. Now you will simply click the Event Name, Guest Name and so on to Edit the record. We also have removed many icons associated with buttons, sections and features.
Less Buttons, More Action
The biggest change you will notice with this new interface is the overall design is more refined, more modern. We've eliminate many of the "boxes" that made our pages look busy. We've simplified buttons to be found behind a central More Actions dropdown menu, typically found on the right-hand side.
For example, when viewing the Reservation details view, you'll find a "More Actions" menu that provides you access to Modify, Reschedule, Guest Delayed and other buttons that were available on this page. The Cancel button has been moved to the top, right-hand corner.
Introducing the New Business Section
We have made managing all of your integrations easier and have moved those settings into a new Business section of our admin panel. This section will host all the business-level configurations of your account, mainly features and settings that you setup and then rarely have to make adjustments.
So long story short is that we have completely rebranded the Member Configuration page to become the new Business section. This is where you can get your access for TablePro or Guest Link Pro or update any of your settings related to your eCommerce or Club platform or payment gateway.
Managing Locations and Floor Plans
We have moved the management of Locations and Floor Plans to this new Business section. Here you can also view your Cancellation Policies in Policies, manage your images in the new Image Collection section and your company logo in the Logo section.
We have also completely eliminated the need to create a Location for Ticketed events. You can input the address, if different from your default address, directly into the Location input field.
Deleting Locations
You can now delete Locations that are no longer bound to any active Experiences (Reservation Events) or any active or past Ticketed Events.
Managing Holidays & Business Closures
Holiday Manager has been renamed as Holidays & Closures to provide a better description of shutting down your property due to a recognized holiday or closure due to hosting a private event or unforeseen natural event. The user interface has also received a major upgrade that we believe you'll really appreciate.
Exports Have Been Moved
We have eliminated the Exports section to make it more intuitive, so don't panic when you don't see it in the main menu. We have moved all Reservation-related exports and syncs under the main Experiences menu where you can access Reservations Export, Reservations Sync and more. Any ticketed-event related exports are all available under Ticketing.
Image Collection
We have replaced Profile Images with a new Image Collections section under Business. Here you can upload all of your images. This has also been re-written to be 10X faster. The next generation will offer a drag-and-drop uploader and the ability to easily set the order of your images.
WHAT'S NEW
Verified Users and Email Addresses
One major change in this upgrade is you will notice that the system will no longer allow you to enter any email address into any Settings-related field that is not already an Admin or Basic user account. This is our approach to avoid misspelled admin notification email addresses as all Users are now verified upon creation.
This addresses the issues of complaints regarding not receiving email messages related to Reservation alerts, ticket purchases and so forth. If you need someone to be alerted and they don't have an existing User, you will need to first created one and have them verify their account before being allowed to be used in the admin panel.
Guests Section
You will notice that we have renamed the left navigation option of People to now be Guests. This is because we have moved the management of Users (now referred to as Team Member), Concierges, Servers and so forth to the Business section. The Guests section will continue to be the location for List Management and Guest Sync (when enabled).
Marketing Section
We have consolidating many of the marketing-related features from the various areas of the previous interface to this new area. Here you will find Offers & Promotions, SMS Messaging (if enabled), Manage Products (if enabled), Site & Menu (new), Social Media (new), Widget and Guest Tags (if enabled).
Opted-In Contacts
For those that want to export out the Guests that have opted-into being marketed to when they completed a transaction will be found in a new Marketing section. Be sure to review the standard verbiage that guests will have to agree to before being added to your marketing lists. As always, make sure there's an easy way to opt-out in your outbound marketing messaging.
FAQ Library and Custom Topics
We have created a new, more robust FAQ section which is also found in the Business section. Before this was limited to just 3 FAQ topics, but now you can select from pre-built FAQ topics from our FAQ Library or create custom ones on your own, set the display order and more.
NEW USER PROFILE PAGE
We have completely redesigned your User Profile and moved everything to a simple page for convenience of updating your contact information, your default business account and password changes.
NEW LEVELS OF SUPPORT
Live Chat and Introducing CellarPass Bot
We have introduced for the first time-ever, real-time chat in the admin panel. Through our chat widget, the CellarPass chat bot and members of our live support teams can be pinged for answers to quick questions, schedule a training session or video call to discuss ideas on how to better the performance of our platform for your business.
Support Website, Submitting Support Requests
We have removed the Support from the left navigation menu and moved the link up into the top menu, nicely sitting there on the right-hand side, happily named Help Center. Clicking this link will take you to our new Support homepage where you can jump from there to read our latest Documentation, watch Training Videos or how to submit a support ticket to receive Live Support. The new Documentation section is all keyword searchable.
You can now submit support requests via email by sending as much detail, including screenshots, about your issue, how our teams can replicate it as much as possible to support@cellarpass.com. The more information you provide the faster we can find a resolution or provide answers.
A new Popular Topics section will continue to be updated with all the latest news and features you'll want to learn about.
FEEDBACK
We love feedback and learning from you how we can improve the platform to help you exceed your goals. In the coming weeks, we'll be announcing new ways to share feedback, feature requests and more to help make the transition to our next generation platform, a smooth one.
Thanks again for your continued support.
Cheers,
The CellarPass Team
