This article shows you how you can upsert credit cards that are associated with a guest's Reservation booking to be attached to their customer record in WineDirect.
AS OF 6/17/2020 - WINE DIRECT HAS DECPRECATED THIS SERVICE
One of the additional features that WAS available with the CellarPass integration with WineDirect is the ability to securely attach a credit card that was used to book a Reservation and attach it to a customer record; whether it's a first-time customer or an existing customer within the WineDirect database. The credit card is attached to the customer record in WineDirect at time of booking and does NOT require you to sync orders for this feature to work.
This is a perfect solution for those properties that wish to not charge the credit card within the CellarPass platform, but would like to charge the customer within WineDirect.
Setting Up the WineDire Credit Card Upsert
Due to the security requirements needed to complete this task, there's a one-time setup charge of $199. This covers the time necessary for our developers to accept the secure token from WineDirect and to run some initial tests, when necessary.
This additional feature is not required, but enabling the standard WineDirect integration is. Also understand that this feature will only work for Reservations where a credit card is required to book. And if the Reservation was booked through the backoffice, the admin has the ability to negate the credit card requirement, allowing the Reservation to have no credit card attached, therefore it will not be attached to the customer record.
