CellarPass provides different Deposit Policies depending on whether you have a credit card payment gateway integrated with the platform or not.
Payment Gateway Disabled (Default)
1. No Fee (Complimentary)
You have set the Event with $0.00 Fee Per Person. The guest doesn't expect to pay anything.
2. Comp'd with Minimum Purchase
You have communicated to the Guest that if they meet a certain minimum purchase requirement, you'll waive their tasting fee.
3. Comp'd with Minimum Purchase- Require CC- You have communicated to the Guest that if they meet a certain minimum purchase requirement, you'll waive their tasting fee. In this case, you want a valid credit card entered by the Guest to secure the Reservation. Note, CellarPass doesn't authorize, charge or verify if the credit card supplied is valid.
4. Collect from Guest
You have communicated to the Guest that they will be expected to pay for their tastings when they arrive, not through CellarPass, but through your own means such as your Point of Sale.
With a Payment Gateway Enabled
1. Charge 25% Upon Booking
You have communicated to the Guest that their credit card will be charged 25% of total Event fees to their credit card upon booking. The remaining balance will be due upon the guests arrival.
2. Charge 50% Upon Booking
You have communicated to the Guest that their credit card will be charged 50% of total Event fees to their credit card upon booking.
3. Collect from Guest- Require CC
You have communicated to the Guest that they will be expected to pay for their tastings when they arrive. The payment will most likely be collected outside of CellarPass. Note, CellarPass doesn't authorize, charge or verify if the credit card supplied is valid.
4. Charge Immediately- Reject Declined
You have communicated to the Guest that their credit card will be charged 100% of total Event fees to their credit card upon booking. In this case, if the credit card fails on the authorization (credit card is declined), the Reservation will NOT be processed, nor considered valid Reservation. The Guest will need to call you to make alternative payment or deposit policy arrangements.
5. Charge Immediately (Accept Declined)
You have communicated to the Guest that their credit card will be charged 100% of total Event fees to their credit card upon booking. If the credit fails to receive a proper authorization or charge (credit card is declined), the Reservation will be saved and it will be your responsibility to make alternative payment or deposit policy arrangements, or cancel the Reservation as to avoid the risk of a "No Show".
6. Auto-Charge 48 Hours Prior- Require CC
You have communicated to the Guest that their credit card will be charged 100% of total Event fees approximately 48 hours prior to their arrival. Note: this system is automated, with credit cards being run between 1am and 3am Pacific. If the credit card receives a "declined" message from your payment gateway, it's your responsibility to make alternative payment or deposit policy arrangements, or cancel the Reservation as to avoid the risk of a "No Show".
7. Auto-Charge 24 Hours Prior- Require CC
You have communicated to the Guest that their credit card will be charged 100% of total Event fees approximately 24 hours prior to their arrival. Note: this system is automated, with credit cards being run between 1am and 3am Pacific. If the credit card receives a "declined" message from your payment gateway, it's your responsibility to make alternative payment or deposit policy arrangements, or cancel the Reservation as to avoid the risk of a "No Show".
8. Auto-Charge Upon Arrival Date (AM)- Require CC
You have communicated to the Guest that their credit card will be charged 100% of total Event fees the morning of the guests arrival. Note: this system is automated, with credit cards being run between 1am and 3am Pacific. If the credit card receives a "declined" message from your payment gateway, it's your responsibility to make alternative payment or deposit policy arrangements, or cancel the Reservation as to avoid the risk of a "No Show".
9. Ignore Credit Card Requirement for $0.00 Grand Total
If you require a credit card, but the system discounts the Grand Total to equal $0.00, you can check this box to have the system ignore the credit card requirement in order to book the reservation online. Read more
