If you are not familiar with our Points of Interest (POIs), now's a good time to review them and update to ensure you are marketed to our guests properly. Why do you ask?
One of the first features we built for our website and admin panel back in 2009 was the POI system as we knew our guests would like to be able to quickly filter the list of tasting rooms on our website, not just by region or AVA, but by attributes like family friendly, dog friendly, by specific varietals, electric vehicle charging capabilities and more.
And the last time you probably reviewed your POIs was when you first launched and you may have made some renovations or policy changes that should be reviewed at least 1-2 times per year. For example, if you recently added a Telsa charging station and didn't update your POIs on CellarPass, you may be missing out on bookings by these guests looking to charge up their vehicle while they sip and swirl.
Many of the pages on our website are built dynamically- and our business listings can be filtered by these POIs, so it's important that you keep them updated so that you can clearly communicate what you offer and any policies related to guests that are younger than 21 years old, whether you allow pets and so forth.
If you have updated your family-friendly policy, you might want to as there's a great article on the San Francisco Chronicle website that talks about the current trend that could go either way.
MANAGING POIS
Managing POIs is very easy, but you must have admin-level access to the platform.
- Log into the CellarPass admin panel.
- Click on Business in the left-hand menu.
- Select Business Information from the submenu.
- You will notice two columns, some of you may have 3.
- Check the boxes that apply to you for Notable Features and Varietals.
- Click the Save button when completed.
